Thesis Abstract:

The bus shelter is designed keeping in mind accessibility, functionality and usability of the user. The form inspired from a leaf gives a warm and welcoming appeal. It also adds to the overall aesthetic of the city. A simple bus shelter that becomes a significant motif in a well designed public space.

To decrease user’s frustration, information can now be viewed on touchable screens. Live feed of upcoming buses and placement of kiosks will enhance user experience. The bus shelter is proposed to be made of aluminum composite panel, the seat of stainless steel and the kiosk in glass. Electricity as proposed will be generated by solar cell. Lack of any barriers will help people use the shelter in full capacity.
