Class of 2021
Gymkhanas and Rudyard Kipling both come from the same era. The design focuses on creating a space which people of all mindsets and age groups can relate to, a space that will take you back in time and generate a sense of nostalgia & memory.
The design enhances the gymkhana experience with the inclusion of The Jungle Book, Rudyard Kipling’s most familiar writings. The printed jungle upholsteries, the animal inspired anthropomorphic elements convey a story in the space. The sitting arrangement has been kept informal with addition of table lamps, carpets, bookshelves, ottomans and armchairs making it ideal for a customer to read and dine at the same time
A space for social interaction and activity, a place of assembly, creating the best of both worlds- a space that the newer and the older generations, both can connect with.
The mezzanine will be used for book promotions and story-telling evenings. The decor elements, artworks, design corners and some furniture pieces are up for sale. The space brings in a shop, eat, read experience, all at the same time.
