A space inspired solely by the natural world. The source of inspiration was animals or creatures which possess certain special and distinct features. Inspiration was drawn from a tent caterpillar.
The design evolved from the habitat of the creature. The base is inspired by the different layers of a sliced tree trunk, since that is where the creature builds its home.
The transparent pipes are like the branches between which the caterpillar builds its home. Cut outs within the cylindrical pipes allow a person to walk in and experience the height of the space along with connection to natural elements. The pathway that runs all over is an amalgamation of how the creature webs the habitat all over and between the branches. The petal like forms indicate the weaving patterns by the caterpillar.
In the design concept, natural elements have been incorporated to allow human and natural world connection.
